Ch’ich’iyuy is located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and provides an innovative model for affordable home ownership. It also includes spaces for meetings, community gatherings, and retail. 56 rental studio apartments prioritize Elder Indigenous women at income assistance rates. The remaining units are apartments that offer affordable homeownership for people and families earning modest to middle incomes and use a leasehold homeownership model where the buyer will pre-pay for between 30% and 50% of the value of the unit and will rent the remaining portion of the unit from the society.
