How to support our work
Not-for-profit, cooperative and Indigenous organizations have a vital role in providing adequate and safe affordable housing for low to moderate income households. Despite having significant potential to increase housing through the acquisition, development or redevelopment of their aging buildings or underutilized land, these organizations often face barriers, such as a lack of early funding, that may prevent or delay their projects from moving forward.
The Vancity Affordable Community Housing Program addresses these barriers, helping to grow the supply of community-owned affordable housing by providing early-stage funding and capacity support for affordable housing projects.
Invest for impact
We are proud to offer socially-minded impact investors with an opportunity to help increase the supply of affordable housing by contributing to the Program’s Loan Fund – the Vancity Affordable Housing Accelerator Fund.
The money you invest into the Fund is loaned to not-for-profit, cooperative and Indigenous organizations for affordable community housing development projects.
The Fund is made possible by a capital structure that accommodates a variety of investment types and aggregates contributions and investments from philanthropic, private and public sources.
