Rent Geared to Income:20
There is a critical need for secure, comfortable, affordable rental homes on Galiano Island. In 2020, The Society seeks to build a “village” community for singles, couples, families, and seniors with moderate to low incomes, on a 10-acre lot owned by the society. GALI is proposing a mix of 2 level townhouses and stacked units in a cluster style development that minimizes ecological impacts including preservation of the riparian area and other sensitive ecosystems located on site. A total of 20 residential units will be in 4 separate buildings designed to take advantage of natural grades. The property will also achieve a high-level of water and energy efficiency (Step Code 4).
