GVHS currently owns and operates the Esquimalt Lions Lodge, a four-storey apartment building which is in need of renewal and is not well suited to the accessibility needs of some tenants. This redevelopment increases the number of affordable homes from 77 to 133. The new development will also make greater use of the site as the current building only covers 30% of available land. The Greater Victoria Housing Society was founded in 1956 and is dedicated to providing affordable rental housing for low-to moderate income families, seniors, working singles, and adults with diverse abilities who live independently.
