Forest Heights provides affordable, non-profit housing in the heart of Quadra Village. The building has been in operation well past its effective life and is not barrier free and accessible. Its mixed-use redevelopment will increase the number of units available from 19 to 40. The first floor will also provide new space for GVHS’s offices, and an outdoor seating terrace and gardens will be provided for tenants. GVHS will prioritize housing units for hotel and hospitality workers. The Greater Victoria Housing Society was founded in 1956 and is dedicated to providing affordable rental housing for low-to-moderate income families, seniors, working singles, and adults with diverse abilities who live independently.
